Here's a little general background about me you may find useful.

I've been in the business of helping people achieve personal growth since 1992, and I'm ready to help you live as your best expert. I'm located just south of I-20 in Douglasville on Chapel Hill Road.

I provide counseling to adults, and I work effectively with both individuals and couples. I'm active, perceptive and engaging in sessions. You and I work together and explore and resolve issues as quickly and helpful as we can. I

I'm experienced with different counseling approaches so we do not have to stick to any one approach if we work together. What works well for one person may not work well with another. You'll find that no matter what type of work we are doing, I will be attentive to how you think, feel and act in order to help you learn and understand strategies that will make you more of an expert in the way you life your life.

My experience allows me to also use common sense, and respect for what you are experiencing.  You will receive encouragement and a gentle confrontation when needed to help you in your growth and progress.

Some of the reasons people seek my help include depression, anxiety, relationship problems, alcohol or drug use, grief, trauma, work conflicts, gender identity issues, anger management, and parenting issues.

Couples find that I'm effective with the issues they are facing. I help them find feelings of love and safety for each other, manage their conflict well, use conflict to their advantage, heal resentments and resolve the problems that can get in the way of a healthy relationship.

No matter the issue we are addressing, my goal is to help you develop and learn practical skills and tools that you can use outside the office.

I am the only person you will interact with in my office. This offers you personal attention and privacy.

In addition to counseling, I also provide consultation and supervision to therapists who want to develop their skills and become more effective and skillful in their counseling with others.

When clients first come to me they may want to know something about me before they share themselves.  I've been married for 19 years and have one child.  My spouse just completed her Masters degree in both Sociology and Social Work. My most important time I spend is with my spouse and my child.  Because of this, I do limit my hours to just two nights a week.  Please click on the Rates and Policies tab above to find out more about my hours and fees.

I hope description of my professional and personal background will help you to decide whether I am the person that you want to work with. If you want to know more, or if you think you're ready to set up a time to meet in person, feel free to send me an email or give me a call. -  Clint

I am Faith Payne, a Licensed Master Social Worker in the state of Georgia. My educational background includes the University of West Georgia where I earned my BS and MA in sociology, and the University of New England, where I earned my Master of Social Work. I have worked with children in multiple capacities for over 30 years, most recently as a school social worker, where I work directly and indirectly with children and their families to help remove barriers to learning. In addition to professionally serving individuals, children, families, and couples in the community since 2019, I taught at the university level for 6 years in the undergraduate sociology program.

My passion lies in helping people of all ages heal from trauma, overcome emotional challenges in their relationships, and create sustainable change. I work to build a therapeutic alliance with my clients knowing that you are the expert on your life. Together, we can work to achieve the goals you set.

I am warm and patient and like to interject humor when appropriate. I am person-centered and take a strengths-based approach, following your lead, but also gently confronting negative patterns observed in our time together. I see it as an honor and a privilege to walk alongside you on your journey. If you would like to chat to determine if I am the therapist for you, do not hesitate to reach out. If I am not, that is okay! You must feel at ease with the person you choose. No harm in moving on if it doesn’t work for you.

On a more personal note, I have been happily married to my best friend for almost 20 years. Together, we have an amazing son who is working toward his degree in music performance. I enjoy coffee, time outside (if it is a reasonable temp), reading, my fur babies, and spending time with my family.
